Complaint Comments:
After Mrs. Dejesse was rear ended from the collision she then reported the accident to her insurer Allstate. Her vehicle was unsafe to drive and she needed a rental vehicle asap, she had to pick her daughter up from school and continue with a trip they've had planned. Allstate instructed her to take photos of the damages so they can write her an "estimate". She knew that wasn't the correct procedures and she requested the vehicle to be viewed at the shop by an Appraiser. Allstate instructed her that if she didn't comply with taking the photos and send them to her, that Allstate would not pay for any rental vehicle coverage. She would then Allstate strong armed Mrs. Dejesse into doing the job of an Appraiser for which she is not a licensed Appraiser, after she requested the appraiser to be assign to view her vehicle at the shop of her choice. To add more insult to injury, Allstate's "estimate" by their Appraiser from some far off remote location, had many inaccurate description of repairs, many items omitted that are normal procedures. When their appraiser came to view the vehicle in person for a "supplemental", his appraisal was double the amount of the initial "estimate". My opinion, their"supplement"is more proof of how intentional Allstate and their "Virtual-photo estimating" is to suppress claims and another form to scare consumers to conform to what is good for Allstate with no regards to consumer safety and or their misfortunate situation. Our legislators really screwed up on changing the appraiser act, when now a insurer can demand a consumers to do their job after trying to recover from a frightening incident where they were rear ended sitting still.
